Many of my paintings and monotypes reflect my fascination with abstracting from real things. Others are a result of working directly from the canvas or etching plate without a preconceived idea of how they will turn out. I add color, line and texture and allow the piece to emerge. My art works are my artistic responses to my thoughts, feelings and reactions to the world.
I received Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) and Master of Fine Art (MFA) degrees from The Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD. While living three years in Europe, I studied painting with artists in Germany, France, Italy and Hungary. My work has been exhibited in juried and other shows overseas and in the greater Washington, DC area. I am a resident artist in Studio #331 at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA.
Enjoy my artwork.

I received Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees from The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) where I took interior design courses. Additionally, I received color and decorating certifications from The Decorating and Staging Academy, where I studied with JoAnne Lenart-Weary, who has been featured on HGTV’s “Decorating Cents.”
I would love to work with you to bring a fresh, artistic look to your home.
My imagery is inspired by nature, travels and social issues. I often start with a concept and develop it according to my inspiration. I enjoy creating whimsical images using bright colors on canvas or paper. With some works I overlay one color over another to create richness and depth. With others, I pour paint and manipulate it on the canvas to achieve immediacy. I like to use color to create tension and to move the eye throughout the painting. Through patterns, lines and textures I work to create exciting visual spaces — each individual worlds of their own. I invite you to enter those worlds and enjoy my art.

Most of your existing furniture will be utilized when I create new spaces that are pleasing to the eye. Bookcases and counter tops that have become cluttered and overfull will be organized and rearranged to showcase their beauty. When I am finished, your home will reflect good taste, comfort and style.
I will use my artistic eye to help you select color for your floors, walls and furnishings. I will also suggest colorful accessories to transport the eye around the room.
If you are moving into a new home or buying new furniture, I will draw scaled room plans for the placement of your furnishings. These plans will be tailored to reflect your living style and will look and feel warm and inviting to your family and friends
